Our bestselling amber heart- I think, because of the dimension, the plumpness & because each is one of a kind, but of a piece. Another piece I love because of the way it allows the amber to rest against one's skin. A thoughtfully done design, eye-pleasing & skin-pleasing. Also a perfect size.
Turquoise & Amber Memory Wire Bracelet
It's literally a shame, we have all the materials to make more of these & seemingly zero time to do it. Maybe in early summer, we try to set aside June for doing a lot of our own design work... These were all composed of gorgeous Native American turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty & Kingman mines... my hands are getting itchy....
The Purple People
I knew the one with the amethyst colored beads would go first... We hope to have some made with real amethyst chips. Its funny, at shows & events, we once in awhile find an archetypal figure dressed in purple, intently feeling the amber, really handling it... asking gentle questions, obviously attracted, but held back by the color. We affectionately call them "the purple peope" because it seems there is a deep affinity betwen the warmth of amber & the purple hues of amethyst, it's just hard to find them together...
The Beauty of Mat
Someday I'm going to sort through all my images of mat, or butterscotch amber & devote a whole gallery to it... Mat is my personal favorite color of amber & I love the color, it reminds me of the teeth of an aged, ancient & very wise panther. I love the thought of such a creature prowling the earth while the amber was forming...

Sterling Caged Amber Drops
I have to get a better picture of these- the design is simple, yet ingenious, protecting the lily drop while at the same time, showcasing the amber within. I'm not a fan of kidney wires, but in this case, they make sense, keeping the earring tucked closely & securely to the earlobe. These are so intensely beautiful & unexpected you can get away with wearing just these (for jewelry!) & look like a million bucks.
Raw Amber Bead Bracelet
It takes incredible focus & delicacy to create these pieces, almost slipping into a trancelike state. Raw amber is rarely used in jewelry forms such as this. When we find it, we grab it.

Natural Cherry pendant
I love how assymetrical these are, they're also very "floppy" with a lot of dimension & character. Each petal would be a lovely pendant on it's own- when you get five or so together, watch out! Lovely little beads in the center pull it all together.
Natural Amber Branch
I always loved these with a scarf knotted around the throat & the art pendant peeking though below, such a commanding look. "High end" designer amber often has this stunning mixed look, as philosophically, the natural inconsistencies are highlighted rather than eliminated.
Moja Forma
This piece contained the very whitest mat amber I've ever seen- & the artist made the chain by hand, link by link. Although it is a pendant & meant to be worn as such, I happen to know the woman who purchased it uses it more like a worry stone, or a rosary.

I had a brief, but intense fling with turquoise about a year ago... I hope to find the time to make & design more pieces like this soon.

We had a handful of these & hope to bring back more this year. A hair tie made of mixed amber petals with rough amber skin or bark still showing in places. A great example of what can happen when the designer "listens" to the amber...

I was sitting across the table from my boyfriend in a diner, wearing these. He kept staring at me & finally I said, "Um. What are you looking at?" He smiled & said, "Your earrings are very suggestive..." I said, "Are you taking me to Las Vegas?..."
:) This seriously happened, but I didn't get to go to Vegas (at least not yet!). We just got these in, I've wanted them forever.

Insect Inclusion
This is in many ways, a photo of the exact piece that led Andzia to start seriously collecting amber. It is in her personal collection & I will have to unearth it to reshoot a photo. You can just see the long legs of what looks like a mosquito & the wings here- She intended to have this made into a piece of jewelry, but never did... almost a perfect oval...

Coral Baroque Cuff
Wonderful, intensely red coral cuff paired with marbled mat amber cabochons. Romantic, wild color- this was a seriously unforgettable design. We hope to find more mixed gemstone pieces like this, but you'll understand if we say amber is still our first love, right?
Coastal Dune Amber Bead Bracelet
This delivery, blogged about in "The Case of the Missing Amber Necklaces" was so fraught with anxiety & complications that when they finally arrived, I was so wiped out from the holiday season that it was all I could do to get these up on the site. As a result, it strikes me that in the descriptions- the absolute awe I felt at looking at these may have been overlooked because I was scrambling to describe them technically.
Even as a small child, I was grateful that there were museums because I felt like they kept all of "our" things safe. That's how I feel about these as images & as objects, somehow looking at them is deeply nourishing. They're ridiculous, over-the-top beauty- what is it in the human spirit (and in nature) that just craves this kind of splurge, this kind of excess?
Cherry Amber Ring
"Rare red amber" from Latvia, perhaps not really cherry as much as a rootbeer color. I always thought there was something a bit wicked about this ring- I think it was up on the site for exactly two days, then it was gone.

Cat's Eye
Do we need words for this one? Well, okay. Green Amber is inconsistent, let's say. This to me is a perfect piece, intense, even, deep green with lovely inclusions.

Baltic Amber Nuggets
There's nothing like raw amber just pulled from the sea, lightly tumbled if at all & strung by hand on hemp or light cotton. The original amber necklace of all time, if you will, just as the ancients wore it. In many ways, despite all the serious amber artistry we get to see, I think this is how amber was meant to be, at heart.

I regret the camera resolution I had at the time... amber matched with gold is very carefully selected, & this had a very rosy, warm hue. I'd love to see amber matched with Russian rose gold...
Amber Rose
Full, softly sculpted amber roses, handmade in Lithuania. We only pick these out by hand & rarely have them in stock- when we do, they go instantly. What we like best about these is how like a real rose they are... they are so specific. Yellow, cognac, dark dark cherry like this. Don't worry, they're on the list. One of our most requested, hardest to obtain designs.
